Homeless in Japan

Found in Shinjuku, Japan, these cardboard structures used by the homeless were destroyed by fire in February 1998.
The cardboard house painters were Junichiro Take, who once spent 22 days in jail for performing his art in Shinjuku station, along with Takeo Yoshizaki, Yasuhiro Yamane, Itohisa Takano and others. Though in Japanese, it is worth it to scroll through all of the pages of this gallery as the styles and content of the house paintings vary greatly. Check out the full gallery. LINK
