Office Basketball
Okay, I'll admit that I never did figure out how to shoot a basket, but I did giggle at my failed attempts. Try your hand in this online waste-paper basket ball game. LINK

Isle of Tune
Though I only played around with this game for a few minutes, if you have the time and the patience, it is possible to put together some pretty complex layered musical creations ... by how you plan your suburban layout. As cars pass by buildings, lamp posts, and planters and trees, notes and tones are played. Check it out for yourself. LINK

Thrill of the Catch
Thrill of the Catch is a well-done Flash game that allows you to go fishing, or create and feed your own fish. If you are at work, turn down your speaker volume first because it does have some background music that will catch your neighbor's attention. LINK

Machinarium :: Amanita Design
Similar in game play to their original game, Samarost, the lastest from Amanita Design is called Machinarium. Play the demo levels for free or download the full game at their site. LINK

Scary Girl :: Nathan Jurevicius
Artist Nathan Jurecicius works as a professional illustrator but has also created the world of Scary Girl. It began with collectible toys before being developed into one of the best Flash games ever created, followed by a graphic novel. Full of odd creatures and landscapes, the illustrations make this great for adults too.
Even if you choose not to play, the intro sequence to the game is worth checking out! The first two levels are pretty easy with higher levels becoming more challenging. Playing in full-screen mode helps a ton. The game itself was developed by TouchMyPixel.
Go to the Scary Girl site to see it all! LINK

Some are easy, some are tough, but anyone can play this Guess the Google game. LINK

Little Wheel

Unlike many other point-and click games, this one gives you visual cues to help you make your way through this robot landscape. It's worth playing just to see the graphics and doesn't take too long to help power up the robot world. LINK

Soap Box Racer
Red Bull has put together a little soap box racer game where you can customize your own car. Cool graphics too. LINK

Get the Glass

This is easily one of the best online games I've ever seen. Thank the California Milk Processor Board for funding it and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and North Kingdom for it's creation.
Even if you don't have time to play it all the way through, I highly recommend taking 10-15 minutes and checking out as much as you can. LINK
If your kids get stuck at the end and can't figure out the answer, you can pretend to be a super sleuth that you know that it is "CAN I PLEASE GET THE GLASS."

Twisted Goldilocks Match Game
Here is an illustrated matching game with a fairy tale theme. It gets bloodier as it goes on so it's not a good game for young children. LINKSaturday, December 5, 2009
Game :: Snow Storm

A simple little game. I have to admit that I like any game that makes me think a little differently. Probably good for kids 8 and up. LINK

99 Rooms
This is a combination of a bunch of different genres. Abandoned photography. Street art and illustration. Multimedia and gaming. Both the photography and illustrations are quite beautiful. But the most interesting, and sometimes frustrating, aspect is that it almost functions like a point-and-click game, having to find the spot or combination of spots to click to get to the next room. With some clicks, things happen, others just move you forward.
It is possible to navigate directly to each room without finding the right spots to click. On a Mac you hold down the command key. Not sure what key on a PC, perhaps Control? LINK

Games :: Orisinal

Orisinal has a whole slew of Flash games by Ferry Halim that are beautifully illustrated, though more suited for a preschool audience. Worth checking out just for the style, but also a good place to visit if you have youngsters running around your house. LINK
