Though I've seen plenty of books deconstructed, Boukje Voet takes it to a new level, creating fabulous messes of twists and turns, long strings of swirls,  or piles of convolutions. See more at her exto site. LINK

Volumes :: Jacqueline Rush Lee

Jacqueline Rush Lee has been doing some interesting things with books, putting them together in blocks and in circles, and all sorts of other shapes. See more at her site. LINK

Hive :: Kristiina Lahde

I enjoyed this series of altered telephone books by Kristiina Lahde called Hive. See them up close and stacked over at her site. LINK

Carved Books :: Guy Laramee

I think one of the reasons I like Guy Laramee's carved books is that he creates miniature scenes, often adding color and texture to many of his carved books. Check out more over on his site. LINK

Carved Books :: Long-Bin Chen

Though I always hate to see a book "destroyed", I can't help but appreciate what the substrate brings to these sculptures, the ink on the pages adding the strata one might find in stone. There's plenty of variety in Long-Bin Chen's work so make sure to click to see more. LINK

The Book Collection :: Paul Octavius

Photographer and designer Paul Octavious created this cool little series, numbers created with stacks of books. Some are quite the balancing act. See them all at his site. LINK

Folded Books :: Issac Salazar

I know these have already been featured everywhere and I almost skipped including them because I'm tired of seeing them myself. But I suppose the folded books of Issac Salazar do deserve a mention. Such a simple idea, and well executed. This takes dog-earred books to a whole new level. See more on his flickr page. LINK

Embroidered Book :: Elizabeth Reed

Though artist Elizabeth Reed works in other mediums as well, some of my favorite works are the more complex embroidered books which can be found in the archive section of her website. LINK

Phone Book Carvings :: Alex Queral

Phone books, carved and painted! Lots of famous people to check out. LINK

Book Faces :: Nicholas Galanin

Though he also works in other mediums, this flicker set show a series of face sculptures created from books. LINK

Book Art :: Nicholas Jones

I think my favorite thing about the site of this book sculptor is being able to see photos of his studio as well. LINK

Where Books Come to Life :: Andersen M Stuidio

This is a really fantastic animation using books as the medium for the art. This one is a must watch. LINK

Anagram Bookshop Ad Campaign

I normally don't include posts that can't be redirected to the original artist's site but I'm having trouble tracking one down as it appears that the Czech advertising agency, Kaspen, responsible for this campaign for the Anagram Bookshop, has merged with another company. Anyway, some great art and creative thinking. I'd love to add a link to an official artist site if anyone can provide one.
