The work of Gehard Demetz is striking in many ways. Working primarily in wood, the sculpting is a mix of smooth, highly refined carving, and rough tool marks. Add the additional gaps and holes where blocks of wood don't meet and these pieces are refreshingly unique. See all of his work at his site.
